WHAT IS SPEED DATING?
|
| |
Speed dating is a prearranged type of dating service that is centered around tons of singles who are ready to mingle and perhaps find a compatible match. These events consist of singles who meet for short 3-10 minute “dates”.
At the end of each date, the host gives a signal to the daters to make a note as to whether or not they are interested in the person they’ve just dated.
Once everyone has rotated and “dated” each other, each participant hands in a scorecard to their host with all of their choices on it. Typically, a day after the speed dating event, each participant will receive an email with their matches and a way to contact them. |

WHAT HAPPENS AT A SPEED DATING EVENT?
|
| |
Upon arrival, there will be a fun "Ice Breaker". The ice breaker will give you a chance to loosen up and get to know the other singles you’ll be “dating” for the night. This will take place for about 10 minutes. The winner(s) will get a prize at the end.
After the ice breaker, the actual speed dating will begin. Each date will last 5 minutes. Remember, 5 minutes is just enough time to make a decision as to whether or not you want to see this person ever again. If you are interested in the person, you will write their name down on your scorecard.
After the entire event is over, you will be given the option to further mingle with anyone that you feel you’ve made a match with. You will also hand your scorecard into the host with your chosen matches on it. The host will contact you with your matches via email within 48 hours of the event. |

WHAT ARE THE RULES OF AN ACTUAL SPEED DATING EVENT?
|
| |
You must conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. It is recommended that you stay away from asking very personal questions. You may not, under any circumstances, ask another speed dater for their contact information. It is also recommended that you avoid any questions that may make another speed dater feel uncomfortable. You also may not follow anyone home once the event is over. If you’ve made a match with anyone, you’ll be contacted with their information. |

|
| |
WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE EVENT?
|
| |
Dress to Impress! You definitely want to make a great impression. First impressions are lasting impressions. Take your time to pick out what you’re going to wear to the event.
Ladies, looking too revealing would not be in your best interest (especially if you’re looking for a long-term relationship). Fellas, you know what to wear when you’re trying to impress the ladies.
So again, come dressed to impress. Simply put, dress as if you’re going out on a date with someone for the first time. After all, that is what you’re going to be doing at the event. |

|
| |
WHAT IF THE EVENT THAT I WANT TO ATTEND IS SOLD OUT?
|
| |
There are always speed dating events taking place. Take a look at the Events Schedule page and just register for the next event. In some cases there may be a waiting list that you will be placed on. You will be notified if this is so. |
| |
|
| |
HOW DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENTS?
|
| |
You can pay through the website by credit / debit card.
|
| |
|
| |
HOW MANY TIMES AM I ALLOWED TO ATTEND EVENTS?
|
| |
You can attend events as often as you’d like to. We do understand that you may not make a match on your first try, so you are welcome to attend our events as often as you’d like to. |
| |
|
| |
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY?
|
| |
If you plan to cancel, you will need to give at least a 48 hour notice. Only then will you be given a refund. If cancellation notices are given in less than 48 hours, a refund will not be issued.
Also, if you paid for an event but for some reason you missed it, you are not eligible for a refund. If you cannot attend the particular event you already paid for but still want to attend an event in the future, a credit will be issued for any future event you’d like to attend. |
If for some reason an event is rescheduled and you cannot make the new date, you can apply your ticket to a future event. Refunds are not issued in this case. Refunds are only issued if we cancel an event.
| |
|
| |
WHY DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR AN EVENT?
|
| |
You need to register for an event so we can keep count/track of how many people are attending each event. We have no other way of keeping count of how many men and / or women are attending our event. We need to ensure that an even amount of men and women are going to attend each event.
Once you’ve registered, you will receive a confirmation email with what to do next. The next step is purchasing your ticket. See the “How Do You Accept Payments?” section for further information. |
| |
|
| |
HOW LONG DOES EACH DATE LAST?
|
| |
Each date lasts five minutes. Five minutes is the perfect amount of time to see if any sparks fly between you and another speed dater. If you need more time than that, more than likely, you’re not a good match. This is why we have 14 other speed daters for you to date at the event. |
| |
|
| |
WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO TALK ABOUT DURING MY DATE?
|
| |
Don’t worry. There will be a list of questions on the back side of your scorecard that will easily help you out. There will be 10 questions that will make the “getting-to-know-you” process a breeze for you. If you are having trouble making conversation with your date, just glance at the questions for some assistance. |
| |
|
| |
IF I FEEL THAT I’VE MADE A MATCH, HOW DO I KEEP IN TOUCH WITH HIM / HER?
|
| |
During the registration process, each participant will be asked what kind of information they would like for the host to provide their matches with. This is usually a phone number, an email address or both. Each participant totally decides what information they want to provide their matches with. And remember, your information is only given to people you are interested in and that are also interested in you. It is never given to anyone else. |

WHAT IF I’VE ATTENDED 2 SPEED DATING EVENTS BUT STILL HAVE NOT MADE ANY MATCHES?
|
| |
If you’ve attended 2 events and still haven’t made a match, you are welcome to attending a 3rd time for HALF off of the original ticketed price. |
